Marine Corps Embassy Security Group

Prerequisites

 

In accordance with MARADMIN 010/14 and MCO1326.6.

 

Marine Security Guard (LCpl-Sgt)

  • CAN NOT be married (No single parents with sole custody)

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen

  • Must have an adjudicated Secret Clearance

  • Qualify for Top Secret security clearance

  • Minimum 64 inches tall

  • Financially stable

  • 18 months time on station (If on a 24 months tour, SNM can submit with 12 months)

  • Minimum 90 GT

  • No NJPs within one year

  • Completed PFT/CFT

  • Must have a 1st Class PFT 

  • Service Pro & Cons 4.2/4.2 or higher (Cpl and below)

  • 38 Months obligated service at the time the Marine reports to school 

  • High level of maturity, judgment, and sound moral character

  • All annual training must be completed prior to reporting in unless waivered by HQMC

     

    Detachment Commander (SSgt-*MGySgt)

  • Can be married

  • No single parents with sole custody

  • No more than four (4) total dependents

  • Service Member and dependents must be U.S. Citizens (Dependents can be dual citizen)

  • The Marines youngest child must be a minimum of 9 months old at the time the Marine reports to school 

  • No dual military

  • Must have an adjudicated Secret Clearance

  • Qualify for TS security clearance

  • Minimum 64 inches tall 

  • Financially stable

  • SSgts must have one (1) year time in grade

  • SNCO must be PME Complete (to include resident PME)

  • 24 months time on station (If on a 24 months tour, SNM can submit with 12 months)

  • Minimum 100 GT

  • Completed PFT/ CFT

  • Must have a 1st Class PFT

  • No NJPs within one year

  • MSgt-MGySgt: Within time in service limits

  • 38 Months obligated service at the time the Marine reports to school 

  • High level of maturity, judgment, and sound moral character

     

*Single Marines with children must have legal documentation identifying the second caretaker with custody will take care of the child while the Marine is overseas for three years*
