LtCol Caleb Eames graduated from Fredericksburg Christian High in Virginia and enlisted in the Marine Corps in August of 1995. He was assigned the MOS of 5711, Nuclear, Biological, and Chemical Defense Specialist and was assigned to the 1st Marine Division in Camp Pendleton.
In 1996, he joined the Marine Corps Nuclear Biological and Chemical Test and Evaluation Unit and then in 1998, was accepted to the Marine Security Guard Program, serving at US Embassies in Monrovia, Liberia, and Bogota, Colombia.
In 2001, Sgt Eames was assigned to MSG Battalion staff as an NBCD instructor. While there, was selected to lead an 8th & I detachment in support of the United Nations General Assembly, was in D.C. on 9/11, and was sent to New York City as part of the security team in the aftermath of the World Trade Center attack.
In 2002, SSgt Eames was assigned to Combat Service Support Group-3 in Kaneohe Bay, Hawaii, as NBC Chief. In 2004, he was individually augmented to Central Command, deployed with the Iraqi Survey Group, and worked for the Defense Intelligence Agency operating out of Baghdad, Iraq during Operation Iraqi Freedom.
In 2005, GySgt Eames was reassigned to the 1st Marine Logistics Group, Combat Logistics Regiment-15, in Camp Pendleton, California as the NBC and Intelligence Chief. He deployed for the 2nd time to Iraq in 2006 as the CLR-15 Intelligence Chief, again serving in the Al Anbar province as part of Operation Iraqi Freedom.
While in Iraq, GySgt Eames received orders to report to Officer Candidate School under the Enlisted Commissioning Program. After commissioning and The Basic School, he earned the MOS of Public Affairs Officer.
In 2007, he was assigned as the director of public affairs for the Marine Corps Logistics Base Albany, Georgia, simultaneously serving the installation commanding officer, the commanding general of Marine Corps Logistics Command and the commander of the Maintenance Center Albany.
In April 2010, 1stLt Eames reported as the Public Affairs Officer for the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit in Okinawa, Japan, where he participated in humanitarian assistance/disaster relief Operation Megi in the Philippines and the Northeast Japan earthquake, tsunami & nuclear disaster response Operation Tomodachi in 2011.
In July 2012, Capt Eames was transferred to the Marine Corps Installations Pacific/III Marine Expeditionary Force Consolidated Public Affairs office in Okinawa, Japan, where he was assigned as the PAO for III MEF. While with III MEF, he deployed as part of Operation Damayan, the HADR response to Super Typhoon Haiyan in Leyte, Philippines.
In June 2014, Capt Eames was reassigned as the Deputy PAO for Marine Corps Installations Pacific – Marine Corps Base Camp Butler, Okinawa, Japan. From September 2015 to May 2016, he assumed duties as the Director of Public Affairs.
In June 2016, he was assigned to the Special Education Program at San Diego State University for one year, and then in Aug 2017, Maj Eames received orders to the Joint Staff J7 where he worked as a Fires, Communications Strategy and Information Operations Observer/Trainer, Deployable Training Division, Joint Staff J7 in Suffolk, VA. While assigned to the Joint Staff, he served as the executive assistant to the Deputy Director of Joint Training from Jan 2019 – Feb 2020.
In August 2020, Maj Eames reported to 3D Marine Expeditionary Brigade as the Communications Strategy & Operations Director, and was promoted to LtCol on Sept 1, 2021.
In July 2022, LtCol Eames was assigned to Marine Corps Base Kaneohe Bay, Hawaii as the base plans officer.
On 10 July 2023, LtCol Eames assumed command of Region 7 (North and West Africa), Marine Corps Embassy Security Group.
LtCol Eames earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice in 2005 through Park University, MO; a Master’s Degree in Public Affairs and Disaster & Emergency Management through Park in 2015; and a Master’s Degree in Communications from San Diego State University in 2017.
His personal decorations include the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal (2), the Joint Service Commendation Medal, Navy/Marine Corps Commendation Medal (4), Joint Service Achievement Medal (2), Navy/Marine Corps Achievement Medal (4), Combat Action Ribbon (2), Good Conduct Medal (3), National Defense Medal (2), Humanitarian Service Medal (4) and Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal.
