First Sergeant Stewart was born in Soegel, Germany and enlisted in the Marine Corps on 4 January 2005. He attended Basic Training and Marine Combat Training followed by Avionics Warfare Apprentice and Aviation Electricians Mate course in Pensacola, Florida, graduating with honors. In December 2005 he was transferred to his secondary school at the Center for Naval Aviation Technical Training (CNATT), where he attained the military occupational specialty of (6324) Communication, Navigation, and Weapons System Technician, graduating with honors.
First Sergeant Stewart received orders to Marine Light Attack Helicopter Squadron (HMLA) 369 in May 2006. Shortly after arriving at HMLA-369, he was deployed to Al Taqaddem, Iraq in March 2007. Serving as an Avionics Technician he received a promotion to the rank of Corporal and earned his Collateral Duty Inspector certification. He then deployed to Al Asad, Iraq in August 2008 where he received his Collateral Duty Quality Assurance Representative certification, was promoted to the rank of Sergeant, and led various Avionics Division initiatives. In April 2010, he deployed to Camp Leatherneck, Afghanistan and served as the staff noncommissioned officer in charge of the Avionics Detachment in Dwyer Air Base Helmand Province.
In January 2011 First Sergeant Stewart received orders to CNATT as a Formal Schools Instructor. There he completed the Journeyman Instructor Training course becoming an Instructor Evaluator, certified to teach all courses on four type model series attack helicopters. He held the collateral duty billet of International Military Student Officer, working bilateral engagements with Senior Officers and Enlisted from other countries.
First Sergeant Stewart received orders in December 2013 to Marine Corps Embassy Security Group. Upon completion of the Detachment Commander course, he was awarded Class Honor Graduate and received orders to the Marine Security Guard Detachment Manila, Philippines. Working hand-in-hand with senior leaders from the Department of State, he conducted inter-agency security operations for Pacific Commanders and the President of the United States. Following his successful tour in the Philippines, he took Command of Detachment Ljubljana, Slovenia from August 2015 to March 2017.
After a successful tour on the Marine Security Guard program, he received orders to HMLA-773(-) at Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst, New Jersey, serving as the Avionics Quality Assurance Representative, Fleet Administrator, Anti-Terrorism Officer, and Education Officer. He was promoted to the rank of Gunnery Sergeant and assumed the position of Avionics Division Chief and Communications Security Account Manager. Ultimately, he ended his tour as the Quality Assurance Division Chief and graduated from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University with a Bachelor of Science in Technical Management, Magna Cumlaude.
In April 2020 First Sergeant Stewart assumed the duties of Marine Security Guard Monitor in Manpower Management Enlisted Assignments Branch. He engaged with senior leadership throughout the enlisted ranks of all Military Occupational Specialties and ensured appropriate staffing of the Marine Corps Embassy Security Group, Marine Corps Equal Opportunity Advisors, and The Marine Corps Shooting Team.
In June 2022 First Sergeant Stewart was selected to serve as the Senior Enlisted Advisor to the Sergeant Major of the Marine Corps. Ensuring all matters were briefed and relationships were maintained within the upper echelons of the service as they related to the Sergeant Major of the Marine Corps office.
In August 2023 First Sergeant Stewart assumed the position of Senior Enlisted Advisor for Marine Corps Embassy Security Group Region 8 First Sergeant Central Europe in Frankfurt, Germany.
As of July 2024, First Sergeant Stewart assumed the position of Senior Enlisted Advisor for Marine Corps Embassy Security Group
Region 7 First Sergeant for North and West Africa. He currently resides in Frankfurt, Germany.
First Sergeant Stewart's personal awards include the Meritorious Service Medal with gold star, Navy Commendation Medal with gold star, Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal with gold star, and Superior Honor Award Department of State.
