First Sergeant Aric Lonchar
Region 1 Eastern Europe and Eurasia

First Sergeant Lonchar enlisted in the Marine Corps June 2008 in West Liberty, Kentucky. On 15 June 2008, he reported to Marine Corps Recruit Depot, Parris Island, South Carolina 3rd Recruit Training Battalion, Mike Company. He graduated September 12, 2008, and reported to Marine Combat Training, Camp Geiger, India Company. Upon completion First Sergeant Lonchar reported to the Basic School for Radio Communication in Twentynine Palms, California.

In January 2009, First Sergeant Lonchar reported to 3rd Battalion 4th Marines, 1st Marine Division, in Twentynine Palms, California. First Sergeant Lonchar served as a Field Radio Operator for Headquarters and Service Company, Communications Platoon and deployed to Helmand Province, Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom (OEF). In April 2011 First Sergeant Lonchar deployed a second time to Afghanistan in support of OEF.

In December 2011, First Sergeant Lonchar requested orders Marine Corps Recruit Depot, San Diego, Drill Instructor School, Class4-12. On September 19, 2012, First Sergeant Lonchar graduated Drill Instructor School and was assigned to Second Recruit Training Battalion serving as a Drill Instructor for Hotel Company and as a Senior Drill Instructor with Fox Company. First Sergeant Lonchar received numerous impact achievement and a meritorious promotion to Staff Sergeant on 2 July 2015.

In November 2015, First Sergeant Lonchar received orders to Marine Wing Communication Squadron - 28, Marine Air Control Group- 28, II Marine Air Wing, to serve as the Transmission Platoon Staff Noncommissioned Officer in Charge, Bravo Company. In May2016, First Sergeant Lonchar was hand selected by the II Marine Air Wing Commanding General to service an augmentation billet of “Sergeant Instructor” at Officer Candidate School, Quantico Virginia.

In April 2017, First Sergeant Lonchar was selected to deploy with the Georgian Liaison Team (GLT) Rotation 7, Georgian Deployment Program - Resolute Support Mission. In September 2017, he deployed to The Republic of Georgia serving as a Foreign Advisor to the11th Georgian Light Infantry Battalion (GLIB). In March 2018, the GLT returned to Camp Lejeune, North Carolina and redeployed in April 2018 to Bagram, Afghanistan, in support of Resolute Support Mission. First Sergeant Lonchar continued his advisement duties with the 11th GLIB as well as Task Force Manchu 4th Battalion 9th Army Regiment.

In January 2019, First Sergeant Lonchar returned to MWCS-28 to serve as the Bravo Company Gunnery Sergeant. In October 2019, First Sergeant Lonchar reported to Marine Corps Embassy Security Group (MCESG), Marine Security Guard - Detachment Commander School Class 1-20. Upon graduation in December 2019, First Sergeant Lonchar graduated as the Class Leadership award recipient and was assigned to the United States Embassy in Riga, Latvia where he served as a Detachment Commander.

In April 2021, First Sergeant Lonchar reported to Marine Corps Embassy Security Group to serve as an Instructor/Advisor. While assigned as an Instructor Advisor, Frist Sergeant Lonchar was recognized as Instructor Advisor of the Year for FY22. In October 2022First Sergeant Lonchar assumed the duties as the Chief Instructor at the Marine Security Guard School. In May 2023, First Sergeant Lonchar was promoted to his current grade and assigned as the MCESG Region 1, Senior Enlisted Leader.

First Sergeant Lonchar's personal awards include: Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (with “C” device) Gold Star in lieu of third award, Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal Gold Star in lieu of fourth award, Combat Action Ribbon, and Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal.
