Lieutenant Colonel Jeffery E. Little

Lieutenant Colonel Jeff Little is a native of Great Falls, MT, and was raised in South Carolina. Upon graduation from the University of South Carolina School of Law in 2009, he was commissioned a Second Lieutenant in the Marine Corps in 2010. He completed initial training at The Basic School and the Naval Justice School in 2011, and was then assigned to 3d Marine Logistics Group in Okinawa, Japan.

While stationed in Okinawa, then-First Lieutenant Little served first as a trial counsel, and then as a defense counsel for the Marines and Sailors stationed in the western Pacific region.

Then-Captain Little was assigned to Headquarters Marine Corps (JAD) in 2015, where he served as the OIC of JAD’s Personnel Law – Officer Misconduct section.

In 2017, then-Captain Little deployed as the Aide-de-Camp to the Deputy Commanding General, Special Operations Joint Task Force, Operation Inherent Resolve. Upon returning from deployment in 2018, he was promoted to major and assigned to U.S. Marine Corps Forces Cyberspace Command (MARFORCYBER) as the Deputy Staff Judge Advocate.

After completing his tour at MARFORCYBER, then-Major Little was assigned to The Judge Advocate General’s Legal Center & School where he obtained a Master’s Degree in National Security Law, focusing on cyber and intelligence law. After completing his degree, then-Major Little was assigned to II Marine Expeditionary Force. He served with II MEF first as the Cyber, Intelligence, and Information Law attorney.

In 2022, he assumed the responsibilities as II MEF’s Deputy Staff Judge Advocate.

He was promoted to lieutenant colonel in February 2024.

Lieutenant Colonel Little left II MEF in the summer of 2024 and was assigned as the Deputy Staff Judge Advocate to a mission unit under US Cyber Command (USCYBERCOM).

In May 2025, Lieutenant Colonel Little assumed command of MCESG, Region 8.
