LIEUTENANT COLONEL ADRIAN RANKINE-GALLOWAY

LtCol Adrian Rankine-Galloway was commissioned a second lieutenant in the United States Marine Corps in May 2005.

After completing the Public Affairs Qualification Course at Ft. Meade, Md., in October 2006, Rankine-Galloway was assigned as a public affairs officer for the III Marine Expeditionary Force and Marine Corps Bases Japan, based in Okinawa, Japan. During this assignment he frequently deployed throughout East and South Asia, as well as Iraq, to provide public affairs support for military exercises and operations.

In April, 2009, Rankine-Galloway was assigned as the public affairs officer for the 1st Marine Corps District, the Marine Corps unit charged with recruiting in the northeastern United States. In this assignment he served as Marine Corps spokesman for recruiting matters in the Northeast and he managed numerous outreach programs to promote interest in the Marine Corps among students, education professionals and civic leaders.

In August 2012, Rankine-Galloway was assigned to the Marine Corps Foreign Area Officer program and traveled extensively throughout the Middle East and North Africa, conducting intensive language study in Arabic, and supporting a variety Department of Defense programs in the region.

In September 2013, Rankine-Galloway was assigned to be the Marine Corps Information Operations Center in Quantico, Virginia. In this assignment he deployed extensively to support Marine Corps exercises and operations around the world.

In 2015, Rankine-Galloway was assigned to the Office of the Secretary of Defense and served as a spokesman for DOD scientific research initiatives, and then for DOD policies and operations in the Middle East.

In 2018, Rankine-Galloway was assigned to be the Director for Communication Strategy and Operations at U.S. Marine Corps Forces Europe and Africa, where he planned and supervised public communication activities in support of U.S. Marine Corps operations in Europe and Africa.

In 2022, Rankine-Galloway was assigned as Marine Attache at the U.S. Embassy in Manila, Philippines, serving as the U.S. Marine Corps’ representative to the government of the Philippines and supporting U.S. Embassy and Department of Defense activities in Southeast Asia.

His personal decorations include the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, the Meritorious Service Medal, the Joint Service Commendation Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal and the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal with two gold stars.

His personal interests are history, foreign language study, and travel.
